The Cove Penthouse is a feat of design and collaboration between Andrew Bock Architecture, Bindy Ward and the owners, creating a highly functional, warm and detailed holiday home fit for a busy family.

Tactful design considerations create moments of intrigue through various view corridors, both distant and immediate and cascades down the site’s contour to the sweeping views of Little Cove. Openings in the floor plan allow for moments of pause.

The spaces are textural and incredibly elegant. Surrounded by streams of natural light and an interior palette of oak, ever-so-soft nude, zaragoza stone with its golden veining, terracotta, copper and brass and ornate plasterwork, A depth of material richness, colour and detail sophistication create a story that feels grounded and timeless.

Bindy worked closely with the owners to curate a refreshing selection of furniture, art and object, complementing the open-plan living and light interiors. Sculptural forms and interesting textures take centre stage creating layering and warmth. Custom made pieces like the bar, sit alongside relaxed linen seating and a series of Australian artworks collected by the owners including John Olsen and Judy Watson Napangardi. The result is a pared-back aesthetic that focuses on entertaining and family time in equal measure.
